When a shelter runs out of room, somebody has to answer the phone. We make sure the people who do have money for the vet, a foster room to send the animal to and a driver for the ride, and we run the adoption events where the story ends.
Every animal we help gets one named thing, paid for. Nothing vague.
A rescue usually begins with a phone call: a dog left behind after an eviction, a litter of kittens under a porch, a shelter that ran out of room. Aegis One Foundation exists so that the people answering those calls have money, supplies and a plan behind them.
We pay for the thing that changes what happens next. A veterinary fund keeps a treatable injury from becoming the reason for euthanasia. A foster stipend opens a spare room. A transport run moves an animal from a full shelter to a town where families are waiting. Then we do it again.
Kennel and bedding first. Then the vet. Then the ride to a family. One program for each stage, and the shield is all three together.
We buy the things shelters run out of first: kennels, bedding, food and cleaning supplies. We also pay foster stipends so a spare room can hold a dog for a few weeks.
When an animal arrives with a broken leg, a skin infection or a bill the shelter cannot cover, the fund pays the clinic directly. Spay and neuter, vaccines and dental work count too.
Volunteer drivers move at-risk dogs and cats from full shelters to regions with open kennels and waiting families. Adoption events put animals in front of people who can take them home that day.
We keep the process short so help arrives while it still matters to the animal.
Shelters, rescue groups and individual fosters tell us what they need and for which animal. We ask for photos, an estimate and a timeline.
We pay the clinic, buy the supplies or book the transport ourselves, so money goes to the need rather than to a general account.
Each case gets a follow-up so we know whether the animal recovered, found a foster or went home. We report what it cost and what we would do differently.

If the foundation is recognized as a public charity, for any payment over $75 where goods are provided we will state in writing the amount paid and a good-faith estimate of the item's value, as the federal quid pro quo disclosure rules require. Items and contributions are not represented as tax-deductible until the foundation's federal status is confirmed.
